Hey guys.. welcome to the new colouring tutorial. I've been meaning to do an updated tutorial for a while, but just couldn't decide on the right image to use. While I was drawing the baseball weilding girlie on the right, I decided she'd be a simple and effective example of my colouring technique. There's no background to worry about, so we can just concentrate on the figure. I therefore made sure to save all my stages of colouring, in the attempt to create a (sort of) step-by-step easy to follow process. I've also made some short downloadable video clips of various processes, which were trickier to put into words. I guess in the video age, "moving" pictures speak a thousand words. These videos were encoded in DIVX format, in hi-def resolution (960 x 720). If you haven't already got the codec installed, just go to www.divx.com and download the latest free codec. Alternately, if you've got the ffdshow codec installed you should be sorted. To the right you can see the finshed colours for the picture we'll be using. If you want to have a go yourself, I've made the original 150dpi inks available in an uncompressed .PSD file. Just right click and select "save link as" on the link below.. This pin-up actually took me about 6-7 hours to colour all in. It's a long process, but don't worry, as all journeys start with the first step...
